My 1st Tesla automated charge session
Today, my Tesla automatically charged during a defined time slot, at lowest electricity cost, for the 1st time, powered by Pozoo !
One of Pozoo's goals is to automate the charging of your EV. The charge time slot can be driven by different factors:
- manually defined time slots
- computed time slot, when electricity costs are the lowest. This applies if you have day/night tarigs, or even better, dynamic contracts where the tarif chanhes hour by hour.
In order to achieve this, I had to build the following:
- Pozoo needs to be able to control the EV charge sessions. I happen to own a Tesla, and Tesla is leading the market in terms of APIs/remote control of the vehicule. Integration of the API was pretty simple !
- User should be able to define time slots for charge, if he wants to schedule this manually.
- For the automated scheduling, Pozoo already knows your power consumption profile and your whole costs structure. User should just define how many hours per day he want to charge, and an optional upper limit to hourly cost. Pozoo takes care of the rest.
Today I achieved the manual time slot process, and saw my Tesla start charging at the defined time slot (13h-17h), when my electricity tarif was actually negatice today !
